When your order arrives
- Open the package promptly and inspect the worms.
- Rinse gently with cool, dechlorinated water.
- Move them into a clean, food-safe container with a shallow layer of water.
- Place the container in a refrigerator away from freezing surfaces.
Daily water change
Pour off the old water, rinse the worms carefully, and refill with fresh, cold, dechlorinated water. Keep the water shallow enough for easy oxygen exchange.
Watch their condition
Healthy worms should remain responsive and clustered. Remove debris or deteriorating material during each rinse and refresh the container if water becomes cloudy or develops an odor.
Prevent freezing
Do not let the worms freeze. Refrigerator cold spots can vary, so choose a stable shelf and check the storage temperature if you are unsure.
Prepare to feed
Rinse the portion you plan to use and introduce a modest amount. Observe feeding behavior and remove excess when appropriate for the enclosure.
